Ok the 411: Every year, around Spring, the Costume Institute Gala hosts the top annual social event of the year at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City. Vogue hosts this most coveted red carpet, well at least in terms of fashion. This event has been around since 1948 (which is when the Institute was founded). Seats to attend this function cost around $150k per person, oh swoon, unless of course you are an invited celeb.
Now let’s discuss the best fashion statements made at the Met Gala in 2012: I know that the new season of Mad Men is on and Jan Jones is hardly on it. We also know that she was out having her own bundle of joy, but at least we get to see her at the Met Gala. Her yellow Versace is simply stunning. She really did go from Mad Men to X-Men and we are loving it.
Gwyneth Paltrow knocks it out of the park again (pictured above) and in an ethereal silver Prada number. She just keeps getting better with age. We like GOOP too, check it out, if you want to be a Gwinnie addict like we are at LustList.

Kristen Stewart in Balenciaga … so her … so unique and understated. Probably not the best choice on a fancy red carpet, but we like her, because we never know what we will expect from her. K. Stew was actually voted World’s Best Dressed in 2011, she must be doing something right … to even bestow this honor.
