GG 2012

16 Jan

Hot hot with beads!

Although I wasn’t completely invested in the Golden Globe awards this year, the fashion was majorrr. Who was your favorite? LustList has gone with Nicole Richie, because she was the most innovative and didn’t go for the princess ballgowns in blush or mermaid blues that all the other celebrities were sporting. Who did she wear? An old fave, Julien Macdonald. Don’t know him?

Here are some cool facts:

- Hails from London

- Worked at Chanel and Givenchy

- Has dressed Beyonce

- You can get his items @: Net-A-Porter

Stay tuned for a SAG report in a few weeks, xx

Madewell for 2012!

20 Dec

J.Crew who? Made well for 2012 is more like it. The Madewell Spring ’12 collection is the best one so far. Alexa Chung, has really become a fashion icon and an inspiration for the brand.

Although, it is the lower priced version of J.Crew and made for the tomboys who wear dresses, the new collection has some stunners for everyone.

From cheeky prints to adorable green flats, Spring is really here. The chambray shirts to the electric button downs really show an eclectic range.

Look out for this collection soon! Madewell has limited stores, but you can always peruse these items from their online storefront here: Madewell

Madewell is definitely on my Xmas LustList, what is on yours?

Ohne Titel

15 Sep

Although, fall is currently in “season,” we are already looking ahead to Spring Fashion (2012) this week in NYC.

So far the new trends will be neon, athletic chic, whites, polka dots (my personal favorite), geometric and of course crop tops. Who knew?

One collection you may not be so familiar with is Ohne. I loved this tangerine dress below.

The collection was started by Flora Gill and Alexa Adams. They both met at Parsons and bonded over what else, style!? After Alexa spent years at Helmut Lang they reunited forces at Karl Lagerfeld and then began Ohne.

Here are some other pieces from past collections, most of the designs are shaped with soft drapes and are very modern.

You may have seen them win the CDFA from Vogue back in 2009.

Be on the look out for them, as I have a feeling they will continue to take the fashion world by storm. Their sales are soaring and handbags are next for this dream duo! For more product to add to your list and lust after, click here, www.ohnetitel.com.

Carven

11 Jul

Leighton Meester, the famed Gossip Girl/TV star turned into movie actress was spotted wearing French designer Carven as she was leaving the Ritz in NYC the other day.

The off-shoulder dress is a perfect fit for the actress and it is from the Spring 2011 collection. This is not her first time to wear this designer either.

The fashion house was created by Madame Carven in 1945 with an atelier in Paris on the Champs – Elysees (you can still find them there today). The clientele has grown to include screen stars and European royalty.

Now, the former Givenchy designer, Guillaume Henry – has put his spin on the label with romantic cocktail dresses to heavy wool coats. Whether he uses lace or lederhosen, he is always turning his fashion pieces into a statement.

This brand has grown and now offers accessories such as shoes and handbags as well. Here are some of my favorite pieces:

You will be lusting after this brand for sure, check the website out at: http://www.carven.fr/

Zuhair

27 Apr

Although I have thrown a few celebrity-studded events myself, I always imagine what I would wear, if I was actually invited – not always working.

Zuhair Murad would be on the top of my LustList as a designer to wear. The house was established in 1995 in Beirut. He strives to evoke a mystical world, I wish we all could live in – with his impeccable taste, gorgeous designs and sultry colors, Zuhair perfectly blends an ancient heritage with a modern twist. Think 1950′s high fashion & glamour.

Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively seems to be his biggest fan and enjoys his ready to wear collection just as much as I do. Check out these 3 amazing looks in Zuhair (Pewter, Quick Blue and Sea Green) above.

Zuhair’s flagships stores are in Beirut and of course Paris, but can be found in any upscale department store. For more information, look here: zuhairmurad.com.

JewelMint

8 Mar

Inspired from one of my besties, Kate Scudese – who just sent this to me this morning, to another Kate: Kate Bosworth. She just started her own line: JewelMint, which is a new, personalized collection of designer jewelry. Kate B and Cher Coulter (her stylist) give you their personal recommendations after you take a cute little style quiz.

It is similar to the style maven subscription site: Gilt Groupe, where you have to be exclusively invited to enjoy the perks of haute couture shopping. With JewelMint, your first purchase is heavily discounted, an incentive to try the line of course. Since I matched an experimental/bold style, they paired with me a navajo earring set that I immediately wanted. Also, when you invite your friends to join, you get more – such as free items!

Love the tag!

Award Winning Looks

28 Feb

So the Oscars have come and gone for 2011.

Red looks were definitely the theme of last night, but I thought these girls had the right award winning looks to lust after!

5 Stars for 5 Faces of the Night:

1) Scar Jo – that hair, that color – I heard she chose the D&G selection right before she came to the Oscars. What a great choice, she looks like she is single and ready to mingle. Poor Ryan!

2) Gwinnie – her tan skin, that blonde hair and all in a CK dress – she does not look like a mother of 2! OR a country singer who is also married to Chris Martin of Coldplay!

3) Jennifer L - Another CK stunner, and the first one to enter the red carpet. The dress definitely suited her well. Who would think she was 20 and a best actress nominee?

4) Mila K - Mila has really stood out this year, especially with this Elie Saab lilac gown.

Enlarged, to show the detailing.

5) Anne – Hostess with the Mostest, va-voom in Valentino. Annie looks great in anything, but red is her signature color. She looks flawless in this and her 12 wardrobe changes!

Howdy!!

16 Feb

Already inducted into the Fashion Hall of Fame and straight from the photogs at New York City’s Fashion Week, Betsey Johnson had the best in show in 2010. Her Fall RTW collection was anything but finding a needle in a hay stack! Hay may have been everywhere, but the western theme was very impressive. From gamblers to robbers in bondage gear, canary hats, to brightly colored warholesque one suits and boots, did I mention overalls – this collection had a little bit of everything and was somehow cohesive and of course amazing. Here are my favorites:

Welcome to the wild wild west, Kelly Osbourne modeled in the show and there was even a tribute to McQueen, no show could ever do any more justice that this one on Vday – 2/14/10 …

I remember seeing Betsey in the Hamptons once, me waving crazily at her and her nodding back. Her funky style is always eclectic yet inspirational and true to who she is. I can’t wait to see what the stores decide to carry! For more info on Betsey, click here: http://www.betseyjohnson.com/

Rag & Bone

7 Jan

If you are inspired by how “boys can be girls and girls can be boys” – loosely taken from the hit Killer song, you will love Rag & Bone the menswear inspired clothing for women! If you also want to sport that Harry Potter look – this brand is for you.

Actually Gilt Groupe is having a a huge sale on Rag & Bone today on their website, www.gilt.com

Founded in 2002 in Kentucky, Marcus Wainwright & David Neville, gotta love those southern men – started a mens line in 2004 and transformed into a popular style for women just a year later.

The clothes have a strong british influence but can be worn by all. They provide a perfect fit and a timeless feel with high quality tailoring/construction and fabric. The designers have even worked with the oldest button manufacturers to give their designs an extra touch.

You can lust after these products at any high end boutique or exclusive department stores worldwide, as they have received many awards for their work.

Check them out on gilt or stop by their two flagship stores in NYC: 104 Cristopher Street in NYC’s West Village, as well as a SoHo shop at 119 Mercer Street, I will see you there!

Here are my favorites of their 2009 line:
