An Oldie but a Goodie … Rag & Bone!

I know this brand has been around since 2002, but I am obsessed with it lately, also Jerry Seinfeld is one of their models. Black and white and pale pinks are huge trends this year, and rag & bone has plenty of it 🙂

The brand started in NYC with two British designers, combining my love of my two favorite places, Marcus Wainwright and David Neville have constructed clothes that are beautiful and functional. The clothes are well tailored but edgy enough for any fashionista. Their attention to detail is flawless and even the CFDA has taken notice, since they were formally recognized for an award for menswear in 2010.

They have local and international locations and are quickly expanding, you can always find them at Saks: rag & bone.

Here are some of my favorites products that you will be lusting for:

21 Dec

Have you fashionistas been watching Courtney Loves Dallas, I admit we are not big into reality TV shows, unless they involve designers on Bravo!

Well since she is a southern girl, we had to see what she is up to, she just did a collection with BaubleBar.

Here are some of our personal favorite accessories on her and another trendy fashion blogger.

Harlyn and we’re back …

12 Nov

Sorry LustList took a little web break, which in terms of the internet, is a century.

We wanted to reintroduce ourselves back into the game, by shouting out the brand Harlyn for the Holidays. We have been following them since their debut at Anthropologie, but lately the brand has even been seeking Kayne’s approval via Kourtney Kardashian.

Inspired by love of classic movies and flea market finds, designer Maria Stanley launched Harlyn by combining unconventional patterns (we love sporting the flamingos) with surprising silhouettes. Harlyn pieces are easy to wear and hard to forget.

Too Pretty … Two Toned Shoes

24 Dec

Well the holiday season is upon us. While the traditional partygoer opts for a sparkly shoe, we suggest a two toned shoe for your holiday look this year. It is definitely the way to stand out from the crowd!

Giuseppe Zanotti just put these shoes below on the market. Zanotti has been in the fashion industry since the 1980’s. He actually used to be a DJ before becoming a renowned shoemaker. His first boutique was in Milan, but now everyone in the world can spot and buy his stylish shoes anywhere!

I love the yellow heel with a teal exterior on this platform shoe. This leather peep toe will look great for any New Year’s Party.

Below is another version of a two toned shoe that Stuart Weitzman just put out as well. It is the exact reverse of the shoe image above. Weitzman is known for using interesting materials such as cork, vinyl, lucite and wallpaper when he designs his shoes. Women everywhere wears his shoes including celebrities.

I adore this shoe as it has a teal heel and a pale beige exterior on this platform. This leather peep toe will also look fab for any Christmas Party.

You can find these two toned shoes at your local Bloomingdales or buy them online here: www.bloomingdales.com

Here are some more options that you will be lusting for this holiday season (Stuart Weitzman followed by Rachel Roy):

Take Your Front Seat – 2012 CFDA Fashion Award Winner – to The Row

5 Jun

Sporting a darker “do” these days (MK), Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen received the ultimate award, the 2012 CFDA Fashion Award for Womenswear Designer of the Year for their unique collection … the Row.

See feature in Marie Claire:

The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. (CFDA) is a non-for-profit trade organization for over 350 fashion and accessory designers. One of LustList’s favorite designers: DVF – Diane von Furstenburg, who we cover all the time here … is the current Group’s President. She and Seth Myers from Saturday Night Live (SNL) hosted the awards show last night at the Lincoln Center in NYC for the organization’s 50th Anniversary.

For the first time, this show will be broadcasted on Style.com today at 5 p.m. Eastern.

The Row launched in 2007  and is named after a shopping destination in London. This ready to wear brand is very modern with clean and elegant lines and is a little more high brow than Elizabeth & James, which is named after their siblings (refer to an earlier mention in our Blog)!

Other winners include:

Reed Krakoff – Accessory Designer of the Year (j’adore)

Comme des Garcons – International Award (remember the collab they did with H&M)

Johnny Depp – Fashion Icon Award (although, Johnny didn’t show up, we heard it was still a good time)

Stay tuned for more information and products you will soon be lusting for …

The 411 on the Met Gala of 2012

11 May

Ok the 411: Every year, around Spring, the Costume Institute Gala hosts the top annual social event of the year at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City. Vogue hosts this most coveted red carpet, well at least in terms of fashion. This event has been around since 1948 (which is when the Institute was founded). Seats to attend this function cost around $150k per person, oh swoon, unless of course you are an invited celeb.

Jan Jones

Now let’s discuss the best fashion statements made at the Met Gala in 2012: I know that the new season of Mad Men is on and Jan Jones is hardly on it. We also know that she was out having her own bundle of joy, but at least we get to see her at the Met Gala. Her yellow Versace is simply stunning. She really did go from Mad Men to X-Men and we are loving it.

Gwinnie

Gwyneth Paltrow knocks it out of the park again (pictured above) and in an ethereal silver Prada number. She just keeps getting better with age. We like GOOP too, check it out, if you want to be a Gwinnie addict like we are at LustList.

KStew

Kristen Stewart in Balenciaga … so her … so unique and understated. Probably not the best choice on a fancy red carpet, but we like her, because we never know what we will expect from her. K. Stew was actually voted World’s Best Dressed in 2011, she must be doing something right … to even bestow this honor.

2012 Vanity Fair After Party

27 Feb

Just loved these dresses as well, maybe you saw them and maybe you didn’t, but LustList had to share our top Vanity Fair picks for 2012!

Elizabeth Banks in Chadwick Bell and Choos

Seriously green, navy, polka dots and feathers ... who can resist?

Kate Beckinsale in Versace and Stark

Can this Brit look any hotter, her hair alone is to die for!

Kate Hudson in Versace also and Brian Atwood

She doesn't even look like she just had a baby ... that red is a stunner.

Diane Kruger in Calvin Klein

That red bralette says it all, go Diane!
